бирж. против сейфа (о короткой продаже ценных бумаг лицом, у которого открыта длинная позиция по тем же бумагам, т. е. у которого имеются данные бумаги в сейфе, но который по тем или иным причинам не хочет раскрывать свою позицию)

"против сейфа": "короткая" продажа бумаг владельцем "длинной" позиции по тем же акциям; проданные бумаги находятся на хранении в банке в сейфе, т. е. продавец имеет бумаги, но не раскрывает этого факта и все равно берет акции взаймы для покрытия сделки; см. short selling;
